Dog Attack!!! and Spinach Ravioli

So I have a crazy story to tell yall! Today I went to the dog park (twice), once in the morning and once in the evening. The second time I went, I met a friend there. There weren't a whole lot of dogs, but there were several. There was one that I loved, he was a great dane. He was huge! His owner told me that he was a year old. He was having a grand old time playing with all the other dogs. We were there for maybe 15 to 20 min, then a blue and white pit comes in. Right away this pit starts to fight with this great dane. The dane was trying to get away the whole time and finally (with the help from the owner of the dane) got away. Problem was, once the dane was away the pit grabbed a small terrier by the Head and shook him. The little dog got hurt very badly. He was bleeding profusely everywhere. My friend ended up picking up the poor dog. And of course buddy wanted to play so he was right in the middle of all of it. I went with the guy to Banfield at petsmart right next door. They took the poor dog right away. Turned out that the dog had some eye damage, and lost a lot of blood because the pit got a vein. I ended up calling the constable and after about 30 min he finally showed up at the park. (I went back). There were about 5 or 6 others that were witnesses also that had waited around. We all told the constable what we saw and then the constable tolded to the pit's owner. He was a jerk. He denyed everything. He also called all of us liers, that we didnt see anything. (Let me tell ya we were all standing maybe 1 to 2 feet from the fight trying to get our dogs out of it, and trying to not get hurt ourselves). He also said it wasnt his dogs fault that the great dane started it all, and he refused to help pay for the little dog's treatment. Which so far its gonna be over $1000. So ya thats what happened this afternoon. But good news out of all of this, the little dog is gonna be ok!

So enough of bad stories, on to the pics!!!

Spinach Ravioli With Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 ounce Italian salami, finely diced, or pulsed in a food processor
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 28-ounce can San Marzano plum tomatoes, drained, juices reserved
5 or 6 fresh basil leaves, plus more for garnish
Pinch of sugar
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 1/2 pounds frozen spinach-and-cheese ravioli
1 ounce ricotta salata or parmesan cheese, grated
Directions
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salami and garlic and cook, about 1 minute. Crush the tomatoes into the pan with your hands and cook until slightly dry, about 5 minutes. Add the reserved tomato juice, basil, sugar, and salt and pepper to taste. Increase the heat to high and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Stir in 3/4 cup water and reduce the heat to medium-low. Let simmer while you cook the ravioli.

Add salt to the boiling water, then add the ravioli and cook as the label directs; drain. Divide the ravioli among shallow bowls, spoon the sauce on top and sprinkle with the cheese. Garnish with more basil.
